Pesto Scones

My new brother Joel loves pesto. These were meant to be a treat to take to him at work, but David and I ended up eating all of them. The perils of delicious scones, I suppose.

Pesto Scones
Makes 8 scones

3 and 1/4 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
2 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cups butter, cut into pieces
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup pesto
2/3 cup parmesan cheese, shredded

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In large bowl mix together flour, sugar, salt, pepper, baking soda, buttermilk, parmesan, pesto, and baking powder.

Remove to floured board and knead dough. Flatten into a once in circle and slice into triangles.

Bake for about 10 minutes.
